To design a product or system to autonomously carry out the agricultural task of gathering data to benefit the farmer better. Why? The essential decisions in crop farming, planting, harvesting, irrigating, fertilizing, and spraying is made based on data. Having accurate real-time data enables the farmer to mitigate problems before it’s too late. Through the study of big data, user testing, and learning about the old farming methodology and precision agriculture, my focus was simple. Precision Agriculture equals data, and data equals efficiency. Looking at the user, their problems, and extensive ideation analyzing existing infrastructure, drones, and cable cams became apparent that my solution would be a balloon system. CropStat was my solution. An AI IOT system within precision agriculture, consistently monitoring the crops providing relief to the farmer.
